Holds / Requesting Items

If the item you're looking for is checked out to another customer, or if you want an item sent to your home library branch, you can place a hold for that item.

Renewing Materials

Library items may be renewed as long as no holds have been placed on them by other library users. Physical items (books, DVDs, CDs, etc.) can be renewed up to 3 times.

Interlibrary Loans

Interlibrary Loan is a way to request books, articles and other material not owned by the Deschutes Public Library. The service is available to Deschutes Public Library customers with current library cards in good standing.

You can find out more information on the Interlibrary Loans page.

Self Check-out

Each library is equipped with self checkout machines. To use the machines, scan your library card and then follow the instructions. At the end of the transaction, you can get a printout of your checked out books. You will need to know your Library card pin to use the self check-out.
