Redmond Library

Located in the heart of this growing community, the Redmond Library will double in size, with more public meeting spaces, a new co-working area, and a vibrant design that welcomes browsers as much as it does people who want to pick-up their items and go.

Sisters Library

The updated Sisters Library will be a destination for a community that enjoys a proliferation of artistic events. A brighter and more open design, with more flexible meeting spaces, will allow for greater access for all—even if it’s just for a chat by the cozy fireplace.

Central Library

By centralizing library operations, this new library will provide greater efficiency and faster distribution of materials to the entire county. With more than 100,000 square feet of space—both indoors and outdoors—it will also offer more collections, more meeting areas, and more space for creative endeavors.

Sunriver Library

This building’s L-shape will be reconfigured to allow for a larger collections area as well as three new public meeting rooms. The bright, open space will continue to welcome the community, as will the building’s beloved fireplace.

East Bend Library

The thoughtful redesign of this popular location will improve public access and space for collections, as well as increase the size of the main community meeting area while adding smaller meeting rooms for use by the public.

La Pine Library

Look for a bright and open space that welcomes the entire community with amenities designed for the area the library serves, including a homework room for kids from nearby schools and a redesign that makes browsing the collection better than ever.

library locations After six years of planning and meeting with more than 6,000 community members, Deschutes Public Library is putting vision into action to provide outstanding library spaces and services for decades to come. In November 2020 Deschutes County voters supported the Library’s bond measure to expand and improve libraries across the county. The bond will fund the design and construction of an approximately 100,000-square-foot Central Library to serve all Deschutes County residents. Bond funds will also pay for doubling the square footage of the Redmond Library and will renovate and update existing libraries in Downtown Bend, East Bend, La Pine, Sisters, and Sunriver.

We are eager to continue working with the community as we update and expand buildings and services to ensure that Deschutes County residents have access to the library resources and services needed to keep pace with life in the 21st century.
