We are proud to announce the fifth annual “A Novel Idea…Read Together” selection, The World to Come by Dara Horn. This award-winning book and author will arrive in Central Oregon in mid-May. Cultural programs kick-off April 26 and will continue until the author reading at the Tower Theatre on Thursday, May 15.

A full listing of programs is available here. This year’s selection, The World to Come, is available at all five branches of the Deschutes Public Library in Bend, La Pine, Redmond, Sisters, and Sunriver Area, as well as at all local book stores.

The fifth annual “Novel Idea… Read Together” has become the premier reading and discussion program in the state of Oregon. Each year the Deschutes Public Library Foundation organizes this exciting month-long program for the residents of Deschutes County. Residents are encouraged to read and experience a single work of fiction together and build community throughout Deschutes County one read at a time. The project adapts to the diverse communities and multigenerational audiences within Deschutes County. All programs are free and open to the public.

Tickets will be released for this year’s “Novel Idea” author reading and discussion at the Tower Theatre on Saturday, May 3 at each of the five public libraries in Deschutes County. Tickets are free.
