Description
Stories of climate change, conservation and connection from the Skagit River.
Local photographer and author Christian Murillo takes us on an immersive journey through the Skagit River. The Skagit is one of America's great rivers, yet not many people outside of Northern Washington know much about it. In this presentation, Murillo will share stories from the three years he spent in the Skagit, in the process of creating his book
Soul of the Skagit. The themes of climate change, conservation, and our connection with nature are explored throughout these stories, challenging our assumptions and provoking us to think about our own relationship with the natural world.
Christian Murillo is a professional photographer and environmental storyteller based in Bend. His work has taken him all over the earth, telling stories about our natural world. He has worked with institutions such as National Geographic, Harvard University, 1859 Oregon, Red Bull, and Sidetracked Journal to share stories about the simultaneous power and fragility of nature.
