Know Architecture - Bullet Journaling Workshop at Becky Johnson Center

Wednesday, August 23, 2023
5:30 PM to 7:00 PM
Description
Structure your journal for past, present and future.

This is an in-person program. Registration is required.

What to Expect
Past, present & future are the building blocks of life. Learn how to structure your journal space to house these concepts and also let creativity flow. Your bullet journal practice is going to be a unique blend of logistics, art & routine. The only constant is change, and this style of organization adapts with you. We'll go over the basic "bujo" (bullet journal) setup, discuss your daily & weekly life practices, and strategize ways to make this habit fun, fulfilling & ultimately sustainable. Materials provided, but feel free to bring your own journal if you have one you'd like to start using.

What is Bullet Journaling?
"A bullet journal, also known as a BuJo, is a mix of a daily planner, to-do list, and diary. The bullet journal is an analog journaling system created by New York-based designer Ryder Carroll. He describes this planner/journaling approach as a method to "help you track the past, organize the present, and plan for the future." - Verywell Mind

Kaija Marshall has been an avid bullet journal-er since 2016. The practice has seen her through 9-5 work, yoga teacher training, freelancing, and small business ownership. She is a yoga instructor, birth & postpartum doula and holistic workshop facilitator. She earned her Master's degree in Social Work from San Diego State University in 2015, her 200 RYS Yoga Instructor certificate in 2016 and her Birth Doula & Postpartum Doula training in 2019. She currently serves growing families as a doula all over Bend. Before moving into the perinatal sphere, she worked at Girl Scouts San Diego as an Evaluation Specialist, Camp Counselor & Outreach Program Leader, all while moonlighting as a nanny for families in San Diego county. She firmly believes in the purpose of play, and seeks to encourage mind, body & soul connections through movement, productive dialogue and authentic connection. She believes that data synthesis and gut feelings both have a place in decision making-- this is also reflected in her background: a unique mix of higher education & holistic training-- and this foundation allows her to help folks bridge the gap between institutional & instinctual knowledge to a place of understanding.
