Redmond: Intro to Winter Nordic Walking

Walk with power and purpose! Classroom instruction and optional walk outside. The start time of this program has changed to be 2:30pm

This is an in-person program. Registration is required. Wearing a face covering is optional at all library events.

WHAT TO EXPECT: Come learn and experience Nordic Walking!
- The session begins with a classroom orientation where you will gain confidence in Winter Walking. Learn how using poles correctly provides additional points of contact for stabilization. The foundation of Nordic Walking is activation of the core and posture muscles; walk with power and purpose!

- Join the optional 45 minute Nordic Walk outside with the instructor on nearby paved paths in Redmond. A small amount of poles will be provided for attendees to use, but feel free to bring your own hiking poles.

INSTRUCTOR BIO - Monica McClain-Smith:
"I have been teaching fitness classes and programs in the Bend community for over 30 years. Combining my love of fitness and skiing brought me to Nordic Walking! Of the many fitness formats I am qualified to teach, Nordic Walking is a favorite. Sharing my expertise in fitness through this Fun, Functional Fitness Activity is my passion! You will be Enlighted as you experience the many benefits and journey out on your favorite trail with Power and Purpose!"
