Explore the changing forests through the photography of John F. Marshall.

We'd love your feedback and suggestions regarding library programming. Take the survey at http://dpl.pub/programsurvey2122

John F. Marshall, photographer, and landscape ecology enthusiast will take us to forest fire lookout locations through-out Oregon and Washington to look at panoramas taken in the 1930s and compare them with the same scenes today. We will see imagery from the Cascades Mountains in both Oregon and Washington, along with the Blue and Wallowa Mountains. Marshall also takes us through the changes that happen after wildfires, through a unique series of photographs he initiated in
1994 on the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest.

John F. Marshall has worked as a free-lance photographer with the Pacific NW Research Station of the U.S. Forest Service in developing imagery to illustrate landscape change over time. He has a M.S. degree in Wildlife from the University of Idaho.
