Get the basics of birdwatching.

We want to hear from you. Please complete this online survey https://conta.cc/2WjLWoT

Birding is one of the most popular nature-related pastimes in the U.S. The number of people who feed birds, watch birds, and/or study birds (47 million) is greater than the number of fisherman and hunters combined (40 million). Join Chuck Gates as he takes you through the basics of Beginning Birding. You will learn how to get started, what equipment you need, and some basic techniques that will introduce you to the amazing world of birding.

Chuck Gates is a former board member of the Oregon Field Ornithologists (now called the Oregon Birding Association) and founding board member and past president of the East Cascades Audubon Society in Bend, Oregon. He is the creator and curator of the Birding Oregon Website (https://www.ecaudubon.org/birding-locations), regional field notes editor for Oregon Birds Magazine and the leader of the Prineville Bird Club.
