Celebrate the actors and amazing behind the scene artists who worked on Nicholas Meyer's Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan with this multimedia virtual presentation. More than 100 rare, and many "never-before-seen," newly discovered photographs paint the incredible picture of a company of actors and artists whose talents combined to create one of science fiction's most critically acclaimed films. In addition to the photographs, the presentation will share trivia and little known facts about the making of the film how it was made despite limitations of budget, time, and technology. John and Maria Jose Tenuto have been professors of sociology for 23 years at the College of Lake County in Grayslake, Illinois. John was named the 2020 United States Central Region Faculty of the Year by the Association of Community College Trustees and has been nominated more than 20 times for Outstanding Faculty of the Year at the College of Lake County, winning the award 4 times. Maria Jose was honored as the 2019 State of Illinois Adjunct Faculty of the Year by the Illinois Community College Trustees Association and was named the 2019 Outstanding Adjunct Faculty of the Year at the College of Lake County.
The couple appears in episodes of the Netflix TV series The Toys that Made Us and were featured subjects of the Decades Network documentary Star Wars: Through the Decades. The Tenuto's research of Star Trek and Star Wars fans and history has been featured on WGN News, CBS News, BBC Radio, and Canada's Global News Radio, and in the Chicago Tribune, Chicago Sun Times, SFX, USA Today, and WIRED Magazine. They have contributed to the Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan Expanded Music Soundtrack by James Horner.
The couple have presented their research at the Disney/Lucasfilm Star Wars Celebration, The Official Star Trek Convention, The Saint Louis Science Center, and were invited by the towns of Vulcan, Alberta, Canada, and Riverside, Iowa, to speak about the history and making of Star Trek. John and Maria Jose have been married 21 years and have an 18 year old son named Nicholas Jose.
