Learn the basic kombucha brewing process with Carly King. From growing a Symbiotic Culture Of Bacteria and Yeast (SCOBY), to primary and secondary fermentation, Carly will also demonstrate how to store your extra SCOBYs and what to do if you want to stop brewing for a while and then pick it back up. Kombucha is a scientific art and although brewing kombucha seems tricky and scary, it is actually a fairly simple process as long as you follow some crucial guidelines. There is a lot of freedom when brewing kombucha from the flavors you create to how long the brewing process takes. Experimenting with the basic steps is how you make something new and unique!

Carly King is a Junior vocal performance major at Southern Oregon University. She has been brewing kombucha since late March of 2020. She is now brewing an average of five gallons of kombucha every two weeks. Her kombucha has become very popular with her friends and family.
