Refashioned: Cutting-edge Clothing From Upcycled
Description
A fashion show of restyled and upcycled discarded clothing!
The fashion industry has a disastrous impact on the environment. It is the second largest polluter in the world, second only to the oil industry. Upcycled fashion reduces fashion waste and is one answer to the increasing environmental damage of the fashion industry. This upcycled fashion show will include examples of altering used clothing into a variety of fashion styles including Boho Chic, Lagenlook, Post-Apocalyptic, Street Wear, Ethnic, Sophisticated Casual and Goth.
Linda Barker of SecondTour Design has been creating distinctive jewelry from repurposed materials for over a decade and participates in numerous shows throughout Oregon and Washington. Her newest passion in recycling and reusing is creating engaging upcycled clothing from thrift store and garage sale finds. Barker strives to inspire you to modify existing garments to enhance your unique personal style, thereby positively affecting the environment.
