Friday, July 06, 2018
9:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Location
Redmond Library
Multi-Purpose Room
Description
Build a cajon drum and learn about its traditional use. Registration required. Ages 12-17

Are you ready to rock? You'll need a drum kit, so start it out with your own, handmade cajon! Cajon drums are traditional, box-shaped percussion instruments originating in Peru. Learn how to build one of these drums, and a little more about the culture from which it arose. You'll also get to practice basic rhythms to get you started. All tools and supplies will be provided; there will be an hour break for lunch. Space is limited so register soon. Parent permission is required due to use of tools such as hammers, screwdrivers, and sandpaper.

All participants must wear closed-toe shoes.

This program will be 9-4 with an hour lunch break.
