Winterfest Fun on December 8!

winterfest at the library with snowflakesIt's cold outside, but the fun is just heating up at your library! Join us for fun winterfest activities for all ages on Saturday, December 8. Some programs require registration(*), so be sure to sign up early to ensure your spot:

Cookie Decorating Party

11:00 a.m.-noon | Ages 0-11

Tis the season. Join us for festive songs, crafts, snowflake face painting, and delicious treats kids can decorate and then eat! Play winter games and celebrate. We’ll decorate seasonal cookies and have snowflake face painting and crafts! (Please note supplies are limited.)

 

Holiday Ukulele Performance

2:00-3:00 p.m. | All ages

Enjoy the fun harmonies of ukulele with songs performed by the High Country Ukulele Players and the Bend Ukulele Group. Take in the day's events at La Pine Winterfest, or just come to sit and enjoy traditional ukulele songs, holiday carols, and fun classics.



DIY Ugly Sweaters*

2:00-3:00 p.m. | Ages 10-17

We provide the sweater and decorations, you provide the creativity! Teens and tweens, come get your DIY on. Make the best, ugly seasonal sweater you can using sweaters, ribbon, thread, hot glue, felt, and other upcycled decorations from seasons past. Sweet treats and cookies provided. Get Crafty!

10:00-noon | All ages

Make an awesome holiday gift or something for yourself. Join this all-ages crafting session, including making ornaments with 3Doodler 3D printers, sparkly pinecones, decoupage, and more! Rotate through several stations, or concentrate on one project. Different projects will be accessible for different ages, and all are welcome!

 

Holiday Card Making*

10:30 a.m.-noon | Adults

Make cheerful holiday cards with Bend Art Center. Learn the process of lino-cut carvings. Each person will carve their own images, hand print them on relief paper and attach them to a nice pre-folded blank greeting card. Each participant will get six cards to produce. Feel free to bring your own images, or use simple images provided by the studio like holly leave or candy cane. Registration required; register online here.

 

Gingerbread Workshop

1:00-4:00 p.m. | All ages

Construct a house out of graham crackers, plus tons of decorations! The program begins at 1:00, and we will restock at 2:00 and 3:00 p.m., so come when it fits your schedule. This program is open to all ages.

 

RavenSong Performance

1:00-1:45 p.m. | All ages

Singers from Ridgeview High School's premier singing group RavenSong perform.

Gingerbread Construction for Teens and Tweens*

2:00-3:30 p.m. | Ages 10-17

Make a simple gingerbread house from graham crackers and royal icing. Use structural engineering to construct a house out of graham crackers, royal icing, plus tons of decorations! Registration required; register online here.
 

Sisters High School Jazz Choir Serenade

3:00-4:00 p.m. | All ages

The Sisters Jazz Choir is an elite choir of 16 high school students auditioned out of the Sisters School District Choral Program. The members of the Jazz Choir have earned their spots in the Jazz Choir by demonstrating leadership in the district choral program and by successfully completing a difficult vocal audition.
