“An objective of “A Novel Idea” has always been to inspire collaboration and to ignite the creation of art,” says Chantal Strobel, Community Relations Manager and “A Novel Idea” project manager. Art committees from several DPL branches took up the challenge of curating art exhibits based on the novel. Art has ranged from photography, painting and sculpture. “This year should be an outstanding year for ‘A Novel Idea’ art,” says Strobel. “Ruth Ozeki’s novel,
A Tale for the Time Being, is rich in imagery and theme. We look forward to seeing what the talented artists of Deschutes County create.”
