Auction is planned for Saturday, November 5Since the early 1970s the Kiwanis Club of Redmond has sponsored an annual community-wide auction that has evolved into Oktoberfest. The fourth annual Oktoberfest Auction will benefit early literacy initiatives of the Deschutes Public Library Foundation. The Library’s Foundation’s early literacy initiatives focus on creating better awareness of the skills a child needs in order to learn to read. Funds will support the Library’s summer reading program. In the current economic climate, Kiwanis believe this is an under-recognized program that fits the Kiwanis mission.
The fun begins at
5:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 5, at the Eagle Crest Convention Center with Beer (and wine), Brats and Bids. Anyone 21 years or older is invited. Admission is $25 which includes brats, trimmings, and beer or wine. Corporate tables are available for $400.Tickets are available via PayPal at
www.redmondkiwanis.org.
Kiwanis is expecting a capacity crowd of 300 this year, so advance purchase of tickets is recommended.
St. Charles Health System is the corporate sponsor for this festive evening. For more information, call Jared Larkin at 541-350-6877.
