Fiddle Player Roland White Performs At Libraries

Deschutes Public Library is pleased to welcome two-time Oregon State Senior Fiddling Champion to the Redmond, East Bend and Sisters Libraries. Joining White will be guitarist Mark Barringer. The performances are free and open to the public.

Tuesday, September 20, 6:30 pm, Redmond Public Library
Thursday, September 29, 6:30 pm, East Bend Public Library

Sunday, October 9, 2:00 pm, Sisters Public Library

White has been playing fiddle since 1976. Over the years he has collected 100's of fiddle tunes from different genres including American Old Time, Celtic, French Canadian, Appalachian and Texas Contest styles. He has demonstrated the music of the pioneers for the National Park Service at the Lewis and Clark National Memorial and performed at the North West Folk Life Festival in Seattle Washington.  White won the Oregon State Senior Fiddling Championship in 2010 and 2011 and recently placed 4th in the Senior Division of the NW Regional Fiddle Contest in Spokane. He performs and teaches fiddle in the Central Oregon area.

Barringer hails from the San Francisco area and has played music professionally for over 20 years in. He has been playing guitar since the age of 12 and has explored and performed many different genres including Rock, Blues, Rhythm & Blues, Jazz, Folk, Bluegrass, Celtic and Old Time music. Barringer performs locally solo and with Bare Roots.
