Celebrate local authors and the East Bend and Downtown Bend Public Libraries on August 13 and 14. The event on Saturday at East Bend starts at 12:00 noon and wraps up at 4:00 pm and the Downtown Bend event kicks off at 12:30 and ends at 4:30 pm. Both events are free and open to the public.

“We have both new and experienced authors participating both days,” said Chantal Strobel, Community Relations Coordinator for Deschutes Public Library. “We were excited by the response about the events and think this is a great way to highlight our local authors at the library.” Each author will have a scheduled time for a public reading and a table for book sales. Event attendees can come for the entire day or drop in for a specific author’s reading.

“We have poets, mystery writers, memoirists, and fiction authors all participating,” said Strobel. “We’re happy to support our local authors and plan to make this an annual event every August.”
