Travel Writer Midge Raymond

Midge RaymondBring pen and paper and join Ashland writer Midge Raymond for an evening of travel reading and writing on Tuesday, June 21, 2011, 6:30 pm at the Downtown Bend Public library in the Brooks Room. This event is for writers, travelers, and readers alike, and is free and open to the public. No registration is necessary.

In this workshop, Midge Raymond will take you on a journey into reading and writing about place. You’ll hear excerpts from her collection of short fiction, “Forgetting English”, and you’ll learn essential tips for how to turn your own adventures into compelling stories.

Midge Raymond’s short-story collection, “Forgetting English”, received the Spokane Prize for Short Fiction, and was named one of Seattle Books Examiner’s Best Books of 2009. Her stories have appeared in TriQuarterly, American Literary Review, North American Review, the Los Angeles Times and many other publications. Her work has been nominated for three Pushcart Prizes. She has taught writing at Boston University, Seattle’s Richard Hugo House, and held writing workshops and seminars in San Diego. She currently resides in Ashland, Oregon.
