Deschutes Public Library and the Deschutes Public Library Foundation are pleased to kick-off the 8
th annual A Novel Idea …. Read Together community wide reading project! This year Deschutes County celebrates author Teddy Wayne’s debut novel,
Kapitoil.
A fun event is planned for all ages Saturday, April 9 at 1:00 in the Downtown Bend Library’s Brooks Room. Local artist Paula Bullwinkel will share a presentation on the work and life of artist Jackson Pollock followed by a group splatter art project. Middle Eastern food will be available to sample catered by Chef Ramsey of joolz Restaurant in Bend. This program is free and open to the public.
Saturday, April 9, 1:00 pm, Downtown Bend Public Library, Brooks Room Paula Bullwinkel has a master’s degree in art education with a minor in painting. She has participated in numerous one-woman and group shows in New York City and the East Coast area. For 18 years, she was a professional fashion and portrait photographer for magazines in NYC and London. Paula believes art-making is best approached with a willingness to take risks, and a keen attitude towards the enjoyment of invention.
