The Deschutes Public Library has launched a free service to assist individuals, organizations, and businesses with research on a variety of subjects. The new service,
Book-a-Librarian, provides one-on-one assistance with research that might otherwise be overwhelming for customers.
Through the
Book-a-Librarian service, a professional librarian will meet with customers for up to 90 minutes either in the Library or at the individual's place of work and assist them with their information needs.
"Our goal is to raise the community’s awareness of the vast amount of resources the Library has that can add value to their professional and personal lives. We want our customers to get the critical information they need to make informed decisions. The Library's professional librarians are experts at locating and selecting the most relevant and accurate information from authoritative sources."
According to Rhodes, Library staff are available to assist with research on a variety of subjects, such as:
- Career exploration and resume assistance
- Small business plans
- Consumer research
- Industry trends for entrepreneurs
- Market data that identifies potential customers and/or competitors
- Current information about specific health conditions
- Latest information on housing issues
Interested customers can call for an appointment at 541-617-7080 or fill out the form online at
