January's Second Sunday will be held on January 6th at 3:00 pm in the Brooks Room of the Bend Public Library. Come celebrate the written word with novelist and poet Melissa Kwasny. This program is free and open to the public.
Melissa Kwasny writes and lives in Jefferson City, Montana, and has recently published "Thistle" a book of poetry by Lost Horse Press. Christopher Howell, final judge for The Idaho Prize for Poetry, says that "Melissa Kwasny's poems are so exact in their movement and presentation, so fresh in their botanical and observatory language, they invoke for the reader, with aching clarity, what it would be like to be brave enough to touch both the inner and outer worlds simultaneously, and with identical honesty and care."
Melissa Kwasny won The Idaho Prize for Poetry 2005, and is also the author of a book of poetry "The Archival Birds (Bear Star Press 2000). She has published two novels, most recently "Trees Call for What They Need".
