Café Libri is open this month at the Redmond Public Library on December 16, 2007 from 1:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. During this time, regular library services are available. This family oriented program is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served and the entire family is encouraged to join the Redmond Library staff in gathering for a special celebration of seasonal music.
Featured at Café Libri this month is performing artist Katey Jones. Energetic singer/composer, Jones creates intimate and unforgettable moments with her audiences. During her performance, she will play excerpts from her theatrical concert, “Sleigh Ride.” Called a story teller by Windham Hill artist Billy Oskay, Jones builds on the legacy of her great aunt, Ethyl Romig Fuller, who was Poet Laureate of Oregon. Jones was featured performer at Harvest Moon at the Hatfield Marine Science Center and organizer of the popular Woman of Spirit ’99 conference in Nehalem, Oregon. She’s performed in colleges and prisons and at a Spanish Head Gala. A versatile musician, she’s been Village Musician at the Holden Community and artist-in-residence for a public school system. She’s recorded at TMC Studios, a division of Trinity Broadcasting in Hendersonville, Tennessee, at Omnisound for Inlight Records, Nashville, at Randy Porter’s Lake Oswego studio, at Leon-Forrest Productions in Lincoln City, Oregon, and at Soundsmith, Bend, Oregon. The Sleigh Ride soundtrack, recorded for Inlight Records, was released in 2007 and will be followed by “Somebody’s Girl” in spring 2008.
