Go green for the holidays and get back in touch with simpler, less costly and Earth friendly traditions at the Sunriver Area Public Library on November 13, 2007 at 6:30 p.m. The presentation is the last of the Go Green Series being presented by Deschutes Public Library and The Green Spot. The organizations have partnered to bring the Go Green series to the communities of Central Oregon with local experts presenting info on how people can painlessly go green.
Suzanne Johnson, who is a freelance writer with a background in environmental education, believes that greener holiday traditions can make the season more meaningful. “Holiday celebrations usually result in a lot of debt and a lot trash,” says Johnson. During her presentation, Johnson will provide options and alternatives for gift giving, wrapping and home décor. “Less consumption during the holidays gives families more time together. It feels better and it is less expensive.”
