Discover and learn about the intimate link between poetry and songwriting with local musician Brad Tisdel at this November's Second Sunday. This month's celebration of the written word will take place Sunday, November 11th, at 3:00 pm in the Brooks Room of the Bend Public Library. An open mic will follow the guest reader, and for this musical version of Second Sunday, open mic volunteers are encouraged to bring instruments if they would like to share their songwriting.
Local musician Brad Tisdel has worked for the past seven years as the co-founder of the Americana Project, an organization that teaches guitar playing, songwriting, and American Roots music to young people. The Americana Project is currently in five schools, four Central Oregon high schools and one in Lincoln City.
Mr. Tisdel has also served as the Artistic Director of the Sisters Folk Festival for the past four years, and has just released a new recording of his own, "On Your Way", which contains 11 new songs that chronicle his travels in Nepal, hurricane-ravaged New Orleans, and the birth of his son.
