According to Paula Kinzer, Blue Sky Outreach Coordinator, it’s simple to become a renewable energy consumer. Learn how you can become a part of the green revolution at the Sisters Public Library on October 9, 2007 at 6:30 p.m. The presentation is part of the Go Green Series being presented by Deschutes Public Library and The Green Spot. The organizations have partnered to bring the Go Green series to the communities of Central Oregon. Each month, through November, a local expert will present info on how people can painlessly go green.

Kinzer, who has held her current position as Outreach Coordinator for almost four years, says that participation in the Blue Sky program offered by Pacific Power and other Central Oregon power providers is a great way for consumers to go green without much effort or expense. “It costs the average residential consumer less than $8 per month to participate in the Blue Sky option,” says Kinzer. “Participating in the program creates energy independence, reduces carbon dioxide emissions and other pollutants while creating jobs and tax revenues that contribute to our local economy.” All in all, says Kinzer “Blue Sky is a win win for everyone!”

The Go Green series continues next month at the Sunriver Area Public Library on November 13, 2007 at 6:30 p.m. with a presentation on ways to reduce waste and live green during the holiday season.
