El Dia de los Ninos/El Dia de los Libros will be held April 30 at the Bend Library from 1-2:30pm and Redmond Library from 6-7:30pm. El día de los niños/El día de los libros (Children's Day/Book Day), known as Día, is a celebration of children, families, and reading held annually on April 30. The celebration emphasizes the importance of advocating literacy for children of all linguistic and cultural backgrounds. For more information about this event contact Vilma Carranza at 312.1028. This project is supported in part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services through the Library Services and Technology Act, administered by the Oregon State Library.
Deschutes Public Library was awarded a Library Services and Technology Act grant from Oregon State Library to plan for library services to meet the library needs of the growing Latino community in Deschutes County. We are looking for feedback about future library service from the Latino community and have planned several cultural events in order to solicit this feedback
