Ingrid Wendt and Ralph Salisbury To Lead Workshop

Deschutes Public Library is pleased to host a poetry workshop on Sunday, March 11 from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. The workshop will be led by writers Ingrid Wendt and Ralph Salisbury. The registration fee for the workshop is $45. Workshop space is limited to 12 participants. Lunch is included.
Wendt is the author of five books of poems, two anthologies, a book-length teaching guide, numerous articles and reviews. She has taught literature and poetry writing for more than 30 years at all educational levels, including the MFA program of Antioch University Los Angeles. Salisbury, who was born in 1926 on an Iowa farm, is a professor-emeritus at the University of Oregon. He has published eight books of poetry, including War In The Genes, published in April 2006 by Cherry Grove Press.
During the workshop, participants, through discussion and writing exercises, will focus on strategies for truthtelling in literature.
Following the workshop, Wendt and Salisbury will be the guest readers at the monthly Second Sunday reading in the Brooks Room of the Bend Public Library. An open mic will follow the reading.
