Cafe Libri Stops In Bend

Posted By:  Liz Goodrich
Date Posted:  7/17/2006

Café Libri is open this month at the Bend Public Library on July 27, 2006 from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. During this time, regular library services are available. This program is free and open to the public.

Café Libri is the result of the library district responding to public suggestions. Created to provide a place to meet and mingle and enjoy food and friends in a casual environment, Café Libri events are hosted once a month throughout the library district. Refreshments will be served and entertainment provided. Visitors to Café Libi are encouraged to enjoy the music, browse the stacks and get acquainted with their library in a whole new way.

Taking the stage at the July event is the Sisters duo of Brad Tisdel and Brent Alan, sometimes known as Double Leaner. According to Tisdel, he and Alan have been playing together for ten years. “Musically Brent is really solid,” says Tisdel of his musical partner in crime. “The added bonus is that Brent is a goofball and there’s always an element of surprise when we play together.” Alan and Tisdel play original acoustic music that is honest, fun and heartfelt. Tisdel plays acoustic guitar with Alan lending flawless lead playing on guitar, mandolin, Dobro and banjo. They both sing lead and backing vocals and have been compared to Crosby Stills and Nash meet Simon and Garfunkel with a little bluegrass thrown in for good measure.

Both Tisdel and Alan have two cd’s out and at Café Libri they’ll be playing original selections from their catalog, trying out some new tunes and throwing in some covers, just to keep things interesting.
