) Is your mom tired of the same old Mother’s Day gifts? No problem! Create a unique mini scrapbook at the Bend Public Library on Friday, May 5 from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. Tika Weeks, owner of Alari Artistry leads the workshop. The workshop is free but registration is required and limited to the first 15 people. Call 312-1032 to make reservations.
The workshop in May is part of a workshops series at all branch libraries. Led by Weeks, participants will have the opportunity to learn a new skill while creating something beautiful. “We’re going to using something mom’s are very familiar with, a brown paper bag, to create a unique scrapbook.” Weeks says participants will use color and pattern coordination to personalize the scrapbook. “We’ll also do some embellishment to really make the scrapbook special.” She says that mom’s love personalized gifts and participants can use the scrapbook as a token of appreciation for the special mom in their life. “And of course, participants can always keep their creation instead of using it as a gift!”
Four years ago, Weeks put her love of all things crafty to the test and opened Alari Artistry. She offers a variety of craft instruction for all ages, including yarn crafts, card making, drawing and jewelry making. Participants in the class need not be craft experts. Upcoming craft workshops at the libraries include making a picture frame Father’s Day.
For more information about this class or to register please call 312-1032.
