Training for an upcoming marathon? Or hoping to hike South Sister? Dr. Stacy Sharlet, DC presents information on how sportsters of all levels can more efficiently fuel themselves in a presentation titled, “The Ultimate Diet For The Ultimate Athlete,” in the Brooks Room of the Bend Public Library on Wednesday, March 8, 2006 at 6:30 p.m. This presentation is part of the Wellness Wednesday series, dedicated to health and wellness and hosted each month at Deschutes Public Libraries.
Dr. Sharlet, who has been in private practice in Bend since 1998, is a graduate of Logan Collage of Chiropractic and holds additional certification from the International College of Applied Kinesiology says, “Physical activity takes fuel. Giving the body the best fuel possible will increase endurance, speed and recovery,” says Sharlet. The right diet can provide “fuel for endurance, repair muscle and help heal the body efficiently,” says Sharlet. In addition to helping athletes design the diet that is right for them, Dr. Sharlet treats patients for various conditions, including allergies, and chronic pain.
Each month, Dr. Sharlet will address a different health related topic at libraries throughout the district. For a complete list of the series topics, please call 312-1032. Wellness Wednesday is free and open to the public.
