Celebrate The Written Word At Second Sunday

Posted By:  Liz Goodrich
Date Posted:  2/2/2006

Deschutes Public Library is pleased to host the monthly Second Sunday Readings on Sunday, February 12, 2006 at 3:00 p.m. in the Brooks Room of the Bend Public Library. This event is free and open to the public.

The monthly readings are the result of the efforts of local writers and poets who felt the need to gather to share their work and their love of writing. Each month has a focus and a featured reader. The gatherings end with an open mic time where anyone willing can share original pieces.

February’s guest reader, is poet, teacher, and publisher, Erik Muller. Muller, is the founder of Fireweed: Poetry of Western Oregon and Traprock Books of Eugene. Recently, he has facilitated discussions on the east/west poetry connection. His poetry and publishing efforts are rich in stories. Muller employs surprising turns of language and a wicked sense of fun. His readings are lively and leave a lasting impression of a gifted poet.

For more information about the Second Sunday readings, please call 419-2389. For more information about other library programs, please call 312-1032.
