Stacey Strain, owner of Eagle Rock Home & Garden in Bend, presents "Romantic Rooms on Thursday, February 12, at 6:30 p.m. in the Brooks Room of the Bend Public Library. Her presentation is part of the “Love at the Library” series at the Deschutes Public Library throughout the month of February. The program is free and open to the public.
Strain admits that“bedrooms are my favorite room to decorate.” She believes they should be “romantic, serene, but also functional.” Strain opened Eagle Rock Home & Garden six years ago. Filling a void in the Bend retail scene, her store made a name for itself by offering Central Oregon its first accessory store stocked with fountains, statues and unique items for home and garden. Over the years her business has evolved to include a full service décor and interior design service.
“I work hard at getting to what a client wants,” says Strain, who spends time getting to know her customers tastes and preferences. She considers work in existing rooms to be as rewarding and challenging as starting a room from scratch. “I can help clients rework a room by reconfiguring existing furniture and adding a few simple accessories and the result is a completely new space,” she says. Strain, who claims never to have watched the popular decorating reality television show “Trading Spaces,” says that she likes to “fix” an existing space by bringing nature and unusual materials, like wrought iron, indoors.
