Deschutes Public Library celebrates romance with a “Love at the Library” series. Each Thursday at 6:30 p.m. local experts in the love and romance business will highlight romantic topics. These programs are free and open to the public.
Jimmy Buffett sang “ Love in the library, quiet and cool. Love in the library, there are no rules.” Okay, the library has some rules, but during February, valentine month, the library spotlights love and romance.
The series kicks off on February 5 in the Library Admin Conference Room (507 NW Wall) when Chris Oatman of Newport Market offers a crash course on wine selection. Want to impress your date when presented with a wine list? Chris can help you learn the difference between a syrah and a Shiraz. Participants must be over twenty-one to attend this program. Class size is limited to 40.
Stacy Strain, owner of Eagle Rock Home & Garden, offers tips on creating a romantic room on February 12 in the Brooks Room. She’ll show how a few simple tricks can transform a simple bedroom into an elegant boudoir.
Does your relationship need a fill-up? Don’t miss D'Arcy Swanson, MC, NCC, of the Three Rivers Center For Relationships presenting “The Gift of Love: Must Be Present To Win” on February 19 in the Library Admin Conference Room (507 NW Wall). He’ll offer tips on keeping a relationship hot, happy and healthy.
The final program features Josh Anderson of Movietyme Video showcasing the ten most romantic movies of all time in the Brooks Room on February 26. He’ll show clips from the movies.
