Find out why the Alps are so special on Sunday, June 1st at 2:00 p.m. when local guide, Hilloah Rohr shares her hiking adventures in the Brooks Room at the Bend Public Library.
Pursuing her love for the mountains has taken Rohr around the world. But over and over again she returns to the majesty and magnificence of the French Alps. Growing up skiing and hiking the mountains around Seattle, Rohr was on skis from the time she could walk and making technical climbs in her early teens. Currently living in Bend, she continues to enjoy Nordic skiing, hiking and cycling. She owns Rohr Fitness & Safety, Inc. providing health, fitness and injury prevention seminars and consultation to large businesses and government agencies. Rohr is also an Onsen Therapist based in Bend.
Rohr’s slide show explores La Vanoise Parc Nationale with glimpses of Les Ecrins, the Mont Blanc Massif and Les Queryas. She’ll highlight the refuges, culture, villages and the people along the route. From the glacier peaks of Mont Blanc to the lush green valleys, Rohr offers scenes that inspire.
