Celtic Harpist David Helfand Performs At Libraries

As part of the month long celebration of Celtic Heritage, David Helfand performs at the Sisters Public Library on Friday, March 7th at 6:00 p.m., the Bend Public Library on Saturday, March 8th at 2:00 p.m., and the Sunriver Area Public Library on Sunday, March 9th at 2:00 p.m.
As a former member of the ensembles Amethyst and Mythic Sky, Helfand enjoyed a musical career as a collaborator. Now a solo artist, Helfand composes original works inspired by the power of music from cultures around the world. His latest CD, “At The Edge of the Cornish Sea,” is based on his recent travels to Britain. He performed at the 2000 International Society of Folk Harpers and Craftsmen conference and will be a featured performer at the 2003 festival.
