Redmond Public Library welcomes Joan McFadden of Sundown Catering on Wednesday, December 4th from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. for a delicious demonstration highlighting the art of easy entertaining. If your holiday gatherings have gotten a little stale, McFadden has the right mix of tasty hors d’oeuvres and light libations to perk-up your party.
Blend two parts creative energy, with two teaspoons pizzazz and a pinch of business savvy, and you have the recipe for Joan McFadden of Sundown Catering. As a lifelong collector of all things cooking and creative, McFadden turned her love of good food and fun into a successful business. She learned her trade from the ground up, working part-time with a catering company in Milwaukie, Oregon. She opened her own catering business and four years ago moved to Central Oregon and started Sundown Catering. Many parties and happy customers later, McFadden continues to love her work. Her most challenging job was preparing lunch for 1,075 cyclists. “Organization,” says McFadden “is always the key!” Most of us will never have to feed 1,075 hungry athletes, but a family gathering can seem just as daunting. During the program, McFadden will share some of her specialties, including Parmesan Crostini and Parmesan Tuiles, Asparagus wrapped with Prosciutto and Olive Tapanade.
Recipes and samples of McFadden’s creations will be available. This program is free and open to the public.
