Free Computer Classes Offered at the Bend Public Library

The Bend Public Library is offering a series of free computer classes beginning October 8. Class size is limited. Sign-up at the Reference desk upstairs in the Bend Library or call 617-7080. Three different tracks are being offered and participants will receive a Certificate of Completion at the end of each series.

“The classes are designed to be hands-on and are small with a maximum of 10 people per class,” said Electronic Services Librarian Liisa Sjoblom. “The focus of the classes is to make library users aware of and comfortable with using the many electronic resources the library offers.”

The following three tracks are available:

Getting Started on the Computer
Choosing the Right Office Program
Editing a Report with Word
Creating a Party Invitation with Word
Creating a Budget Spreadsheet with Excel

Track 2 – Computer Access to the Library and Beyond
Getting Started on the Computer
Navigating the Web
Exploring the DPL Library Catalog
Choosing a Search Tool for the Internet
When the Web Won't Work: Using Electronic Databases
Advanced Topics in Internet Searching

Track 3 – Special Topics for the Advanced User
