Deschutes Public Library has a mystery type geocache hidden in each library location.
Geocaching is a real-world, outdoor treasure hunting game using GPS-enabled devices. Participants navigate to a specific set of GPS coordinates and then attempt to find the geocache (container) hidden at that location.
To learn more visit Geocaching.com.
The library’s geocaches are “mystery geocaches” which means there is a short puzzle you need to solve at each listed location to find the call number for the cache. You won’t find these caches listed in the catalog!
Click a link above to view the puzzle for each cache. When you find a cache write your name (or nickname) and date on the log. Take a piece of library swag and quietly celebrate your successful find! Remember to be sneaky! Look out for muggles (non-geocachers) who might accidently move or ruin the cache after they see you using it.
Please note: geocaches are only available during library open hours.
