Full Position Description


Your purpose is to enrich lives. In addition, you get to have fun, learn and work with a great team too. While performing excellent customer service to a wide range of library users, you will also promote library services. Your primary responsibilities include helping customers find needed resources, providing assistance on customer accounts, and responding to public inquiries in person, electronically, and on the telephone. Your time will be split between service desks and checking in materials. Other library duties as assigned. Bilingual English/Spanish speaking skills preferred.

Starting Salary

$2,278.85 based on 30 hours per week


30 hours per week with flexibility to work other days/times/locations as needed. The core weekly schedule is Tuesday thru Saturday with hours noted below.
Tuesday 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM
Wednesday 9 AM to 3 PM (Staff meeting first Wednesday of each month 10 AM to 4 PM)
Thursday & Friday 10 AM to 6 PM
Saturday 9 AM to 3 PM

NOTE: Schedule and Location may change based on the needs of the District.

1) A high school diploma or equivalency with preference for business study at a two-year college, 2) two or more years of full-time experienceproviding customer service to varied ages, and 3) demonstrated success working both independently and in a team setting.


Demonstrated success in providing excellent customer service to a wide range of customers and colleagues in a high volume environment (2) Ability to be calm and productive in unpredictable situations (3) Ability to learn and apply library policies and procedures (4) Success in establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships (5) Flexibility and good judgment to handle varied tasks and changing workflow needs (6) Capability to process high volume of different materials with accuracy (7) Keyboarding skills and ability to learn and use library software.


Sitting, standing, walking, bending, pulling, pushing, reaching, twisting, lifting (up to 30 pounds), and pushing/pulling 100 pound carts.


Must be able to provide own transportation to assigned locations and/or to different locations for training.
