The Friends of the Redmond Library Art Committee is pleased to present a display of art by Kay and Gordon Baker. The exhibition in the Redmond Library’s Silent Reading Room runs from now through the end of September 2012
Kay Baker is a well-known Central Oregon Artist who paints both the High Desert and the many lands she visits. Kay works in oils and pastels and occasionally gets out her watercolors. She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts and is a juried member of Women Artists of the West, the Pastel Society of America, and Oil Painters of America. She also belongs to the Plein Air Painters of Oregon, the Northwest Pastel Society and a juried member of the Oregon Watercolor Society. Her paintings are in public and private collections throughout the United States.
Gordon Baker is a geologist, environmentalist, and artist. Nature is the common denominator and painting brings it all together. My paintings reflect who I am; a summation of a life time of experiences. Painting in oil and sometimes in pastel, Gordon paints both plein air
and in the studio. My landscape paintings cover Oregon, Montana, Wyoming, Alaska, and National and State Parks in the Western States.
Exhibiting artist contribute 20% of the sale price of their artwork in support of the Redmond Friends of the Library which sponsors the Art Committee and art exhibits at the Library.
