In the fall of 1996 Michael Czarnecki traveled 20 days on America’s longest road. He chronicled his adventures in a book called, Twenty Days On Route 20
. Now, 14 years later, he embarks again on his epic drive across the country on US 20. Czarnecki will present photos, stories, poems and prose of both journeys on Monday, June 6 at 6:30 pm at the Downtown Bend Library
and on Tuesday, June 7 at 2:00 pm at the Sisters Library
“US 20 is the longest US highway, says Czarnecki. “It connects the two coasts, crosses the Mississippi and Missouri rivers and takes you through Yellowstone National Park!” Along the way, US 20 passes through cities, small towns, rolling hills, eastern woodlands, farmlands, Midwestern plains, and wild western landscapes. What more could a traveler want in a single route?
During his presentations, Czarnecki will share photos, stories, poems and prose of his experiences along Route 20, both past and present. For more information about this or other library programs, please visit the library website at www.deschuteslibrary.org
