Mixing Up a Little Help

Question: What do you get when you mix ginger vodka, maple pecan syrup and a small ball of maple cotton candy? Answer: the latest and greatest cocktail created especially for Deschutes Public Library by mixologist Columbine Quillen. The cocktail, which Quillen has dubbed The Help, will be debuted at two cooking and cocktail demonstrations at the Bend and Redmond libraries as part of the Novel Idea … Read Together community wide reading project.

Quillen is the bar manager at the Blacksmith in downtown Bend.  Considered one of the nation's top mixologists, she specializes in cocktail history, bitters, foams, and infusions.
