Local Songwriter Willie Carmichael at Bend Library

Date Posted:  6/5/2007

Deschutes Public Library is proud to host singer/songwriter Willie Carmichael to the Cafe Libri stage. This month's event will take place upstairs at the Bend Public Library, June 20th, at 6:00 pm. The event is free and open to the public and refreshments will be served.

Willie Carmichael is a local American and Folk songwriter and describes his music as "Life and death and the whole Mary Ann in four mintues or less. These are songs that'll make you laugh and cry and call up people you used to know to either chew 'em out or beg forgiveness." David Jasper of the Bend Bulletin says, "Carmichael's sensibilities cross over into his character-driven songs: bittersweet, angry and humorous folk tales whose subjects seemingly take on a life of their own."
