Join Deschutes Public Library and the Deschutes County Historical Society for a presentation by Bill Buck about the Lewis and Clark adventure on Wednesday, February 12th at 4:30 in the Library Admin Conference Room in Bend and again on Sunday, February 16th at 2:00 at the LaPine Public Library.
“The Lewis and Clark expedition was the stuff that dreams are made of,” says Bill Buck, a professor at COCC who will present the Lewis & Clark program. “They explored the blank spot on the map of a wild continent while their writings left us a record of wild and beautiful lands and diverse peoples,” states Buck.
The expedition symbolized the adventurous spirit of a young country embracing possibilities and opportunities. The approaching Bicentennial of the expedition is an ideal time for Americans to reexamine the journey of Lewis and Clark, and consider the impact on the people and the land along the trail.
This program is free and open to the public. For more information, please call 617-7072.
