For ages 6–11 years
Read or listen to books for three hours. Fill out the coupon. You get a free book,
coupons from Papa Murphy’s and Goody’s, and a pass to a Trailblazers game. Plus
your first coupon gives you a chance to win a puppet and book.
Then have more fun
completing a Dig Into Reading Bingo card, full of activities, plus more hours
of reading. Each completed Bingo means another three hours of reading and a chance
to win Oakley, the talking tree puppet. A completed Bingo card means a coupon for
Jamba Juice!
For Ages 0–5 years
Parents, Dig Into Reading is for infants, toddlers and preschoolers, too.
Reading to your young child is one of the most important activities you can share,
beginning as soon as he/she is born.
Experts recommend a total of 20 minutes a day,
but it doesn’t have to be all at the same time. However much time is easy and fun
for the two of you is what’s best. So keep track of those minutes each day, fill
in the Read To Me! coupon, and get a free book just right for reading aloud.
Oakley Leaves!
Oakley the talking tree pulled up roots—and hasn’t come back. If you see him at
a store or restaurant go to the library and tell them where he is to win a book.
Bikes for Books
Bend Masonic Lodge is donating two bikes for children ages 6–11 years at each library.
The Center is donating a helmet and fitting too. Fill out an entry form for each
three hours of reading and listening. Winners announced at the Brian Waite Band
concerts.
