Downtown Bend: Blank Pages Writing Workshop - The Carpenter and the Judge

Tuesday, August 15, 2017
6:00 PM to 7:30 PM
Location
Downtown Bend Library
Brooks Room
Description
Mike Cooper leads a series of Writing Workshops based on Betty Flowers' Essay on the four personality roles in the writing process. These roles apply to all forms of writing: Fiction, Nonfiction, Technical, Business, & Poetry.

Participants are encouraged to register for all three workshops for a comprehensive experience.

Day Three: The Carpenter and The Judge
The Carpenter does our finish work: specific word choice, sentence structure, and copy-editing. The Judge looks at what we've done, and lets us know if we succeeded in our intent. Bring something to write with and something to write on.

Mike Cooper is a graduate of the OSU-Cascades MFA Writing Program and has led several writing workshops for Deschutes Public Library, Caldera Arts, OSU Cascades, and The Workhouse in Bend. He recently placed in the top 25 for Glimmer Train's New Writer's Award.
