Downtown Bend Library

The Downtown Bend Library was designed by Thomas Hacker and Associates of Portland, Oregon. The 40,000 square foot library opened in October 1998, and is conveniently located adjacent to downtown Bend.

The beautiful exposed beams and high ceiling on the second floor, complemented with generous windows looking east, gives an airy and open feeling.

Please visit our Circulation Department on the ground floor to get a library card or discuss your account. Our Children’s area is also on the ground floor, and is always bustling with activity, A trip upstairs will get you to our Adult and Teen materials, our public computers, and free wifi.

Downtown Bend - SCORE Small Business Counseling

Avoid time-consuming and costly mistakes by learning from someone whos been there, done that. SCORE business counselors will be available from 5:30 7:30 p.m. for free one-on-one small business counseling. Individuals who operate or wish to start small businesses can discuss business planning, organization and start-up, finance, marketing and other critical business issues with SCORE volunteers in private, confidential sessions. No appointment necessary.

The old halls and grounds of Bend's St. Francis School now house a hotel, restaurants, a theater and an on-site brewery. The brewery is located in what was once the basement lunchroom of the former Catholic school, and has been transformed with elaborately decorated fermentation tanks. Brewer Mike White will be on hand for tours and Q&A during this open-house style tour of McMenamins' brewing facility.

Tour 10 Barrels brewing facility in an open house-style format. Show up anytime between 3:00 and 5:00 p.m. for your tour of their 50-barrel brewhouse in east Bend. 10 Barrels award-winning brews include S1NIST0R Black Ale and Apocalypse IPA.

This open house-style tour is free and open to adults 21 years of age older.
