Donating Items to the Library

The library encourages and accepts donations for our Friends of the Library Groups' book sales. The proceeds of these events help purchase additional popular materials and support library activities like early literacy programs and projects.

If you have a question about an item you would like to donate, please contact your local library.

General Donation Guidelines

Accepted Materials

Hard Cover and Paperback Books
Magazines in good condition
(not accepted in Bend & Sisters)
CDs
DVDs
Graphic Novels and Comics
Vinyl Records
Sheet Music
Cassettes
(only accepted in Redmond)
VHS Tapes
(only accepted in Redmond)

Materials Not Accepted

Damaged or soiled items
Textbooks
Encyclopedias or Dictionaries
Reader's Digest Condensed Books
Puzzles or Games

Preferred Donation Hours

Downtown Bend and East Bend
Donations will be accepted during open hours.
Please box donations of 10 or more items. Unboxed donations of more than 10 items cannot be accepted. Small donations (up to one box) can be taken to both the EBend and DBend Public Service Desks. Larger donations (up to 4 boxes) can be taken to the Downtown Bend Library back alley entrance. For donations of more than 4 boxes please contact Bend Friends Staff Liaison to make arrangements for donation at 541.617.7070

La Pine
Sunday 12:00 to 4:00 and Monday-Thursday 10:00 - 5:00

Redmond
Monday - Friday 10:00 to 6:00

Sisters
Tuesdays 1:00 to 3:00 and Sundays 1:00 to 3:00

Sunriver
Tuesday - Friday 10:00 - 6:00 and Saturday 12:00 - 5:00
